The Sitter:
Let’s start off on a sad note… This is the last time we will see a fat Jonah Hill as he’s lost a lot of weight. Let’s hope he’s still going to be funny!
Going into this movie I was expecting a laugh a minute movie because after all it is Jonah Hill, But sadly I didn’t get it. Don’t get me wrong there are some funny bits, but could have been a lot better.
Jonah Hills character Noah plays a loveable guy, who like most overweight, nice guys can relate to. All he wants is a girlfriend and will do anything to get one. Marisa played by Ari Graynor is he so called girlfriend who is only with him for one thing – let’s just say it involves his tongue and a story she’s heard! , She calls him and tells him to meet her at a party and bring drugs! Not a good call to get when you are babysitting 3 crazy kids.
The kids in this movie are somewhat random and disturbed.
Rodrigo seems to want to cause havoc where ever he goes, Knocking things over, Pissing all over the place, oohh and the bombs! Also probably one of the worst accents ever in a movie!
There’s a girl Blithe who has an unhealthy obsession with makeup and acts like a mini Kardashian.
Next we have Slater a 13 year old who is struggling with his sexuality and dependent on pills.
Yes, this is probably the babysitting job from hell.
What leads to the night of madness and dragging these kids around the city committing crimes left right and center is Karl aka Sam Rockwell who plays a drug dealer who Noah owes money to. I’m not going to say anymore as there is no point.
Overall this movie should probably have never been made.
I’ve no idea how they got Jonah Hill to lead and David Gordon Green to direct it.
I would avoid this movie in the cinema, Wait a few weeks I’m sure it will be on TV.
I’m going to give this 1 and a half stars.
Reason for such a high mark is there are some funny parts and I really like Jonah Hill as an actor.
