“I’m Sorry”

“Don’t Say that”

“We F*&^ed up…we did it again”

“How bad? …Like, no wedding bad?”

“yeah… a little worse than that….”

…yeah, I couldn’t believe it either but the 4 unluckiest men on the planet manage to get into yet another impossible situation and have to put it all together the next day, remembering nothing and retracing their steps to an all too familiar end.

There’s no question, this lot can fit an astonishing amount into one night (include arms deals, riots, a little light drug dealing, prostitutes and a smoking monkey)  and considering the hangovers they must all have the next day they do an almost Sherlock Holmes like job of piecing it all together… well, it impressed me but that probably means it was giving me too much time to think, how? The movie is only 90 mins long!?

Don’t get me wrong, the movie is packed with lots of great one liners; “when a monkey nibbles on a penis it’s funny in any language”… yeah, in fairness, it’s probably true.

We are presented with the same story – this time set in Bangkok, with all the insane situations and unbelievable (literally) scenarios you would expect having seen the first movie.

It is a farce – in the true and theatrical meaning of the word, it is the Office on steroids.

And while the story is unbelievable the characters are a little interesting; Alan (Zach Galifianakis), don’t think of him as the hapless moron, more a deeply damaged individual for whom everything works out in the end (as opposed they funny yet clinically psychotic guy who should be banged up and never again see the light of day). I think Stu (Ed Helms) plays his part wonderfully, –  the whole ‘boring white guy pushed to the edge’ (think Michael Douglas in Falling Down with a happier ending).

Bottom line; open a beer, turn the TV on and your brain off.

“do you have any idea where my finger is?”

“Yeah, we gave it to a drug dealing monkey”

“Thank God….”
